Andrew McCormack's Gravitation Quintet @ The Everyman Studio Theatre, Regent Street Cheltenham, GL50 1HQ.

It’s good to have Andrew back on piano. He’s spent some time in NYC listening and exploring, his latest group Gravitation is the outcome of that time.

On vocals, Noemi Nuti, a New Yorker of Italian descent, started playing the harp at the tender age of eight. She discovered that she could sing and very importantly, she discovered jazz. After a move to London she has become firmly established in the UK jazz scene, with I suspect, a very NYC outlook.

Leo Richardson on sax, graduated from Trinity soon became established in London with his hard bop style, it will be interesting to see / hear what he does in this setting.

On bass and I suspect it will be an electric bass, Rob Mullarkey. Although he does rather like his giant uke!

Lastly, Anton Eger on drums, being Norwegian studied jazz at the Copenhagen Rhythmic Conservatory under Django Bates. He started his playing carreer with Django and with Jasper Holby, the remarkable bassist we welcomed in October.

Like a lot of jazz, this gig is going to be quite different, with the line-up, good different, so, don’t miss it book early!

Tickets are £ 16.00 from the box office: 01242 572573 or on line: www.everymantheatre.org.uk
