The Alan Barnes Quartet at The Everyman Irving Studio Theatre, Regent Street Cheltenham, GL50 1HQ.

Autumn is upon us – season of mists and mellow fruitfulness, not to mention the mellow horn of Alan Barnes with a rather wonderful rhythm section.

Alan, an old friend of Cheltenham Jazz was last here in November ’17 celebrating the playing partnership with Dave Newton, the’ve been playing together for donkey’s! But tonight on piano we have Robin Aspland, he was last with us with Roger Beaujolais. Wonderful piano!

Another old friend on bass, Andy Cleyndert. Andy has been around for years and now is a very much in demand player and educator. Look carefully at his bass and you might see why he sounds so good, he takes care.

No quartet is complete without an able drummer and tonight, in Matt Home, we have a highly experienced Yorkshireman who started drumming at eight years old. Matt was last with us last month. Time does fly!

Tickets are £16.00 from the box office: 01242 572573 or on line: www.everymantheatre.org.uk
